SAT guidelines to forum members

Post by admin »

Dear All,

All members on the forum are reminded that the Site Admin structure is currently STILL under process of change, and relevant 'permissions' would be considered for re-allocation to concerned interested members, as considered appropriate, and in accordance with new defined policies, in due course, after the transition has been duly effected COMPLETELY. Kindly bear with us during the interim period!

In the meantime, the new SITE ADMIN TEAM, (SAT), has already been authorized to commence the work of moderation of the various forums, topics and posts, as per new defined policies, being progressively approved by the SAT, for the benefit of all concerned on the forum. They have already been actively involved in RE-EDITING various posts of various members, currently posting on this forum, deleting posts where considered appropriate, moving posts where required, etc., etc., etc., since some time now, already.
The decisions and actions of the SAT with regard to such delegated functions are NOT SUBJECT to any undue scrutiny, criticism or discussion by/from/with any other member on the forum, although any positive, constructive and helpful suggestions would be most welcome for consideration. After such suggestions are received and considered by the SAT, the FINAL decision of the SAT would be FINAL and BINDING on ALL CONCERNED members, WITHOUT ANY FURTHER ADO WHATSOEVER! The SAT would be gradually expanded by involving interested members to actively participate in the administration/moderation of the various forums, in due course.

We do appreciate the pioneering work of Fluffy Bunny in making the forum what it is today, as well as the prolonged dedication and devotion of members like Arjun and Shivsena, and we trust we can depend upon their valuable support in the future as well. Please note that any future posts are not to be addressed to the previous Admin, since he will NO LONGER be involved with ANY Site Admin functions, and should be addressed to SAT, henceforth.

We regret any inconvenience caused to Arjun during this period, and will address these issues in posts to follow, in due course. Meantime, we have once again requested GH to stop posting, since some members are concerned about the nature of the posts, until things are more clear to concerned members. During the previous suspension, GH had conveyed the purpose and reasons for the nature of the posts to the SAT for scrutiny, and the conveyed views appeared to be reasonable, although same may not be readily accepted or even appreciated by some other members. In any case, GH would be requested to present a more defined picture of the purpose and reasons for the nature of the posts to all concerned, through future posts, once allowed to do so. Trust this action would satisfy concerned members for the time being.

We wish EVERYONE GOOD LUCK and GOOD CHEER, and hope we will continue to work together in HARMONY in the days to come.

With best wishes to ALL MEMBERS and ALL VIEWERS of the forum,

SAT

All active members are once again reminded that their posts would be re-edited by SAT in order to:
1. Improve the level of transmission, with respect to EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION, particularly with regard to those members who are not so proficient in the English language, in order to avoid misunderstanding, which would consequently lead to extensive spurious posting.
2. Minimize IMPULSIVE POSTING, triggered by personal accusative remarks, which disperses and dilutes the mental energies of the posters, to the detriment of all concerned.

SAT are well versed with both the BK and PBK ideologies, and are well connected with both the Organizations, to be able to reasonably perceive the intentions of various posters on the forum. However, sometimes it may happen that the actual intent of the poster may be unintentionally altered in the process of such re-edition by SAT, which may not be acceptable to the poster, in which case the concerned poster always has the option to revise the re-edited post to correct the anomaly, after which such revised post would not be re-edited by SAT again, unless in the case of point (2) above. Trust the matter is adequately clear to all concerned.

All posters are requested to avoid any inflammatory or accusative PERSONAL remarks, to prevent any PERSONAL tussles, and avoid endless spurious posting, and dissipation of their energies to their own detriment.

Since this is EXCLUSIVELY a BK-PBK forum, only those who accept and are well-versed with the Knowledge should engage in active posting, ALWAYS referring to a point or points of Knowledge, to present their views.
Whenever a viewpoint of Knowledge is presented by any member, the comments of other members should always refer to that specific point of Knowledge, and present their views with respect to that specific point of Knowledge, highlighting another point of Knowledge, if so required. Please avoid personal tussles based on personal interpretations of the Knowledge, since personal interpretations will OBVIOUSLY be DIFFERENT, since there are TWO DIFFERENT PROMINENT IDEOLOGIES INVOLVED. Present your view, allow the other to present his/her counter-view, present your counter-view, and so on, ALWAYS STOPPING when required to do so, AVOIDING PERSONAL conflicts, PERSONAL accusations, PERSONAL taunting - whether DIRECT, SARCASTIC or SUBTLE - and PERSONAL ANIMOSITY, as MUCH AS POSSIBLE. We thank ALL CONCERNED for your kind UNDERSTANDING, CO-OPERATION and SUPPORT in this CRITICAL MATTER.

With best wishes to ALL MEMBERS and ALL VIEWERS of the forum,
SAT

Re: SAT guidelines to forum members

Post by admin »

Dear All,

Forum members would have observed that some adjustments have been made in the serial order in which the sub-forums are displayed on the front ‘Home Page’. Also, it has been specifically highlighted that particular sub-forums are exclusively DEDICATED to various groups - viz., Ex-BKs, BKs, PBKs, Ex-PBKs & Splinter Groups - to enable them to post therein, without undue hindrance, interference and disturbance from others. DEDICATED forums are intended exclusively for concerned Groups, to discuss their specific ideologies, interpretations or viewpoints among themselves, promote their ideologies, and respond to any clarifications or doubts from any other members from outside that Group, which should be expressed congenially; other members should not indulge in any criticism of the ideologies, interpretations or viewpoints of a particular Group in the sub-forum, which is DEDICATED to that particular group – they can do so in their own respective Group sub-forum or in the “Questioning, Discussing & Debating” sub-forum. Please be aware that every member is considered to be SMART ENOUGH in own particular Group sub-forum, and others, outside that particular Group, should NOT endeavour to demonstrate their EXTRA-SMARTNESS therein!

Please be aware that the privilege, of locking specific topics of shivsena's choice, has been retained by 'shivsena' by virtue of being the previous Admin, as a pre-condition of the transfer of Admin rights; as also, since costs relating to “Domain Registration - bk-pbk.info” & “Lunarpages Basic Plan Hosting - bk-pbk.info” were already settled by 'shivsena' in advance, until 19.06.2017. 'Shivsena' has also conveyed that 'shivsena' reserves the right to edit or delete any post or posts, in response to shivsena's own posts, which 'shivsena' feels or considers, according to 'shivsena', to be irrelevant, provocative and instigative in nature. All forum members are requested to take due cognizance of this issue and conduct themselves accordingly, to avoid any unnecessary hassles.

Forum members have the option of copying and quoting relevant posts in the locked topics of ‘shivsena’, and posting their views in the topic "Question for Shivsena and ex-PBKs" in the “Questioning, Discussing & Debating” sub-forum. This can be easily achieved by simply copying the link from the 'Subject line’ of the specific post, at the top of the post itself, (not on top of the 1st page, or even on top of any other page), and that specific post will be displayed on opening the link; in this case, it is not necessary to copy and quote the post again below, if it is too long, since the link itself will take you to the exact post in question. A short post or important lines from the post, may also be copied, in addition to the link, if it is considered necessary, to highlight the issue therein itself. Forum members also have the option of starting their own topic, in a suitable sub-forum, where they can post their views, by copying and quoting relevant posts in any locked topics, or simply referring to same by way of a link, which is much more convenient and easy.

To maintain a sense of equanimity, forum members would also have the right to VIRTUALLY LOCK their own topics, by indicating their intention clearly at the beginning of the topic itself, and at intervals thereafter, if so required, taking the assistance of the SAT, whenever required, to ensure other members do not post there. Whenever any forum member VIRTUALLY LOCKS individual topic, by so indicating at the beginning of the topic, other members are not allowed to post in that particular topic. Similarly, the “For Ex-BKs & Common Room” & “For BKs - to discuss BK experiences” sub-forums may be used exclusively by Ex-BKs & BKs respectively, for such purposes. These steps should ensure that everyone gets an equal opportunity to post comfortably, without unduly feeling that special facilities are provided exclusively to someone else.

No forum member is obliged to reply to any post made by any other member, in response to own post, since such response is ENTIRELY at the discretion of the member making the original post; and no other member should coerce or intimidate any member to respond to own post at any time. Any member has the full right to completely ignore any post made by any other member, without being unduly pestered, (as has been the case in the past). It is reiterated that the decisions and actions of the SAT with regard to any delegated functions are NOT SUBJECT to any undue scrutiny, criticism or discussion by/from/with any other member on the forum, although any positive, constructive and helpful suggestions would be most welcome for consideration, which should be posted in the topic, “Comments & Suggestions by active members” in this ‘Admin’ sub-forum, and NOT in this topic, which is reserved for providing SAT guidelines only. Any instigative, scornful, defiant, hostile, intimidating and confrontative posts will not be entertained, and may be instantly deleted. The post or posts of members who do not comply with above guidelines are liable to be deleted, which in itself, would serve as a warning or warnings to the concerned member, after which the concerned member may be prevented from posting for a certain period, at the discretion of SAT.

No member will be permanently banned from the forum, as per existing policy, unless in extremely unusual circumstances - which are currently not anticipated. The ban of ‘andrey’ and ‘mbbhat’, previously incorporated on this forum, have since been lifted, and their accounts are now indicating as ‘activated’, and these members are free to post on the forum whenever they choose to do so, under those names. Currently only FB and GH are being ‘protected’ from posting on the forum, to enable them to adequately appreciate the manner in which we desire to conduct ourselves henceforth; and their ‘protection’ would be lifted on 15th July.

Please be aware that SAT would not be involved in scrutinizing all the posts of the past for their propriety, from any point of view, since such a task is beyond the scope of SAT, who would be concerned only with maintaining a proper decorum, as specified herein, henceforth. Any members, who have any reservations about any past posts, have the full freedom not to visit those topics and read such posts, to protect themselves from being adversely affected by them. Let each member decide on their own as to what is right or wrong, from own perspective, without feeling obliged to unduly impose own views on others. If any member disapproves of the manner in which the affairs of this forum are conducted by the SAT, they are ever free to disassociate themselves from the forum at any time. Any member is also free to express their views and give their suggestions to SAT, or seek any clarifications, through a private message to the Admin. Contact through e-mail is not available to any member at present.

With best wishes to ALL MEMBERS and ALL VIEWERS of the forum,

Dear All,

All 'active' members are ONCE AGAIN CAUTIONED that any post which does not contain PROPER reference to any point of the Knowledge, raised by any other member, OR ANY OTHER IRRELEVANT POST, would be deleted altogether, and such deletion is also to be treated as a 'warning' to/by the concerned member.

Re: SAT guidelines to forum members

Dear All,

The current PHP version is 7.2.34 and the Board has now been upgraded to the latest version 3.3.4, therefore the pbpBB logo, appearing on the topmost left corner of the ‘Board index’ page, has yet to be changed to that of Supreme Soul, as before.
This site is secure.

This is specifically to bring the following guidelines to the kind attention of all active members :

1) Whenever any member wishes to make a post, by quoting the ENTIRE text of any post of any other member, all one has to do is to simply click on “Reply with quote”, at the top right-hand corner of the relevant post of the other member, in the concerned topic - and your reply will appear in an edit window, in the concerned topic. Then - AFTER ensuring that the quote is FIRST closed by
- continue making your observations, about the quoted text, below that - and then click on ‘Submit’. The date of the post of the other member will appear on top right-hand corner, and the reference name of the quoted member will appear on the top left-hand corner, with a blue arrow beside same. On clicking this blue arrow, one will automatically be taken to the post of the quoted member, if so desired. If the post of the quoted member is to be viewed simultaneously, then simply click on the blue arrow, by FIRST holding down the ‘Ctrl’ key on your laptop or PC keyboard, and the relevant post will appear in a separate window, to facilitate intermittent viewing.

If only a small part of the text is required to be referred to, then simply click on “Reply with quote”, at the top right-hand corner of the relevant post, then DELETE all other portions of the quoted text which are not required, and just retain ONLY the required text, and then - AFTER ensuring that the quote is FIRST closed by
- continue making your observations, about that selected part of the quoted text, below that - and then click on ‘Submit’.

If SEVERAL such small parts, or sections, of the quoted text are required to be referred to, then simply click on “Reply with quote”, at the top right-hand corner of the relevant post, then proceed as follows:

a) Retain the entire topmost identity line of the quote which is within brackets [ ] , followed by only the first part of the required text, which should be closed by
. Then, below this, make your observations about this part of the text.

b) Any part of the text which is not required, and for which there are no observations to be made, should be deleted.

c) The remaining required parts of the quoted text should EACH be within quotations, SEPARATELY, viz.,
relevant part of the required text
followed by the relevant observations to be made below, and after EACH such SEPARATE required part of the quoted text.

d) After this your further post observations may follow, below that.

When all required parts have been duly addressed, and further observations have been completed, click on ‘Submit’.

2) This phpBB has a word correction facility available, which should be availed of by all active members whenever they are making any posts. By simply tapping anywhere in the edit window, the words which require to be corrected will be underlined in red. Proper names, and such other words, which do not require any correction should be ignored. Any English words which have errors in spelling may be corrected – one by one - by simply right-clicking on the relevant word, and then selecting the required corrected word which appears in the pop-up window, and the relevant word in the edit window will automatically be corrected. Click on ‘Submit’, only after all required corrections have been made.

Dear ALL,

The forum site was suspended for about 20 days by the current server host, since their server was being subjected to ‘Excessive Resource Usage’ originating from this forum site, according to them. The forum site has been temporarily reinstated by the server host, to enable the satisfactory resolution of this issue.

In case this issue cannot be mutually resolved then we may have to transfer this forum site to another server. The necessary data has been saved up to 27.04.2022, which can be transferred to another server, if so required. We shall endeavour to maintain the same domain name, and shall keep you posted accordingly.

The Board Version has now been updated to the latest available version 3.3.7

Dear ALL,

With regard to this phpBB forum - https://bk-pbk.info/

Since the current Admin is not familiar with the technical aspects of running the forum smoothly, we have decided to hand over the operation of the forum site to any interested party - in case anyone is interested in the same.

The current status is as follows:
Domain Registration – Unit Price – usd 23.99 – valid up to 19th January, 2023
LP Basic Hosting Plan – Unit Price – usd 155.88 – valid up to 19th June, 2022

Total cost per year is usd 179.87 @ 77.61 equals INR 13,960 per year.
Total cost decreases if one opts for longer periods.

In case anyone is definitely interested in taking over the forum by taking care of the above costs per year, do inform us, either through a post here, in this topic itself, or via email at [email protected] by providing your contact details for further information exchange regarding this matter.

Otherwise, we intend to terminate the forum from the current server on expiry of the Hosting Plan date, which is 19th June, 2022 - the renewal date of the Hosting Plan is around 15 days in advance, by around 4th June, 2022.

With best wishes to ALL MEMBERS and ALL VIEWERS of the Forum,

Dear Admin,

Om Shanti. It is sad to know that the forum is on the verge of being closed down. I discussed the issue with someone and he wanted to know if the one who finances the renewal of the forum have to take care of the Admin activities as well?
