Positive Thinking

Post by celticgyan »

I even had to give this course myself and so I know a bit about it (It has been a long time though). I thoroughly enjoyed doing it too. Many ex-BKs are saying that it doesn't mention God, and so is a fraud, and is just used to get people into doing the 7 day course (which I did twice!).

Positive thinking does in fact need some of God-head, since without it we get arrogance, the feeling that we can do anything at all. The psychology that this is not "my knowledge" but somebody else's (all be it a non-person) to some extent removes this arrogance. There are many positive thinking classes run by professionals for managers etc (non-BK that is) and when I look at them they are very arrogant in their approach. I can do anything and bugger everybody else on the way up. The BK course is a nice balance, I thought. Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater!
