- • do good, your own good and don't feel a need to conform
• see any so-called Seniors as just an equal and perhaps even deluded, ignorant and in need of their experience to sort them out
• discriminate between encouragement and coercion, do not accept any pressure from other BKs to do stuff you don't want to
• maintain outside interests and actively look after your physical health
• despite what they say about Destruction, get ahead professionally and look after your material security
• stick to the basics. Gyan is crazy to the real world but has its own inbuilt rewards. If you are happy with them, stick with the basics. Don't become involved in all the deception.
• do your own charity with your own money, don't feed their madness
• do not chase VIPs, despite what Lekhraj Kirpalani says, do good and let them come to you in their own time.
• if you do not get a satisfactory answer to your question from the Seniors, keep asking it until they say, "we do not know" or "we do not understand".
• keep written notes of any meetings and what Seniors said (not classes).

Advice to new BKs from an ex-BK on how to survive
I tried to think of something productive to write and came up with the idea of "advice to new BKs from an ex-BK". I would like to suggest for starters, work in progress and open to discussion;

- • Please study the Sakar Murlis and Avyakt Vanis carefully and churn. Please do not believe everything that is told by the teachers, because it has been said in the Murlis that one should verify from Baba whatever the teachers say.
• Please save the record of Murlis and Avyakt Vanis that you have and if you know anyone who has a collection of old Murlis and Avyakt Vanis, request them to safeguard the treasure.
Regards,
OGS,
Arjun
I want to add one suggestion!
- • Do not accept being belittled or impressed by any one senior to you in the organization, or ahead in the so called "spiritual path"!
- • don't suppress any feelings, like; anger, fear, love, appreciation and stuff yourself with food or any other cover ups.
• do whatever you enjoy, like; exercising, Yoga, dance class, music, going for walks, interesting movies, exploring about what best diet suits your body and soul, keep traveling, sun bathe.
• if you miss Amrivela or Murli class, don't feel bad and challenge the dhristis next day, you still have your place in Golden Age!!
• if you can, have fun !!! it's a good sanskar ...

- • Remember that all of those white clad angels have broken Shrimat, break it on a regular basis (even the Seniors) and equally fail to understand elements of the Knowledge as you do.
• Don't start speaking, acting and dressing like an Indian just to fit in (unless you are Indian!), be yourself and add new color to the BK congregation.
• Don't repeat exaggerated claims that you have not investigated to discover whether they are true or not and don't boast about the UN.
- • Don't be fooled into thinking others will know God Father Shiva more than you do.
• Enjoy what you do, as it is indeed an education from the ocean of happiness.
• Don't beat yourself up if you can not be the perfect BK overnight, Dadis and Didis are still trying after 70 years.
• Study Murli, not Seniors' classes.

Nice one exl!
- • number one; self respect- its yours. do not let anyone; even comments in the Murlis, take that away from you.
• true Raj Yoga is not about having no possessions but being mentally detached from them.
do not go throwing away all your books, cds dvds etc.
• love yourself. Appreciate your uniqueness and your unique relationship with Baba.
• do not let anyones judgement calls get to you; true Gyan is unconditional love. if they cant do it they are not being spiritual
• Cultivate your relationship with Baba; if you become dependant on Seniors or other BKs - you will get hurt.
• you have a right to your own space
do not think that surrendering everything on a physical level in terms of giving up your house and moving into a bhavan is a fast track to spiritual success; -maintain "normal" friends.
• act from love and enthusiasm , not fear or guilt
Re: Advice to new BKs from an ex-BK on how to survive
So many responses already but my bit to the growing list;
- 1. Never brainwash your own children like you had been brainwashed (early on get them to understand what works and what doesnt)
2. Come what may do not allow your career/education/money/relationships to go awry by being the typical BK ... (in fact, I did a play in one of the retreats before DJ and Big Mo ... It was a scene of Dharamraj and four BKs who got the knowledge all wrong ... I will write about this in another post ... but, man, did their eyes open ... in fact, so many brothers and sisters came to me and wanted to know what it was all about)
3. Please do eat food prepared by mom even if she is not in Gyan (else you would get a rap from Dharamraj for upsetting her faith in whatever GOD she believes in)
4. Do go for marriages and other functions your friends and close relatives call you to (do not become a social recluse)
5. Stay outside the games Yagya plays on you ... treat instruments as instruments not as your GOD MOTHER/GOD Father (no pun intended). How would you use a PEN? You would use it to write, is not it? You would not talk to it or ask advice etc from it ... so Senior Sisters etc are only to get permission to go to Madhuban, collect Murlis, give your monthly/yearly donations as you deem fit etc ... nothing more or nothing less)
6. If you have probelms with Seniors do not scream your guts out to seek justice ... it doesn't exist
7. do not fight your interests ... they will come back and haunt you
Re: Advice to new BKs from an ex-BK on how to survive
Be honest with yourself ... are you really having Yoga, or are you deluding yourself because others do?
Don't worry (brothers) if things, err ... go off in the middle of the night, the night before you have a personal meeting with the almighty.
After all, you have come to end of your 84 births and, as such, you are disgusting ... only kidding

Re: Advice to new BKs from an ex-BK on how to survive
1. Don't get trapped in praises.
2. Take care of your mental, emotional and physical needs, not just spiritual needs.
3. Emphasize: Take care of you health, in every way, enough sleep, balance diet, exercise, regular check up.
4. Learn to say no, and yet be strong.
5. Don't promise anything, don't Will anything. Act and think smart. Don't be fooled.
6. Learn as much as you want and then exit, don't get hooked.
7. Don't believe everything people say, question theirs and your assumptions.
8. Respect everyone but even more, respect yourself, because you're the only person you can truly rely on.
9. Be good and do good to everyone. Everyone is entitled to do it.
10. Don't hate the general BK population, actually they are very nice people, just be cautious in your words and action.
11. Develop compassion towards all ...
