Developing AWARENESS of Divine Virtues through PRACTICAL visualisation!

15. Flexibility, Adaptability (लचीलापन)

Visualise a VERY TALL TREE in the forest which sways to and fro, with great flexibility, in reaction to a very strong wind which is blowing swiftly across the forest, in a violent storm. The TALL TREE adjusts itself proportionately to the fierce force of the breeze in such a rhythmic manner that it does not break, but becomes even more refreshed and energised.

Likewise, we too should display great flexibility in an adverse circumstance or a tragic situation, by adjusting ourselves in such a noble manner that we do not get adversely affected by same - but we should become even more refreshed and energised with renewed vigour and strength, after the experience of such an adverse circumstance or a tragic situation!

16. Generosity, Magnanimity (उदारचित, उदारता)

Visualise a SEED – a coconut, in the form of a SEED, from a coconut tree near the bank of a river, which falls into the water and is randomly carried by the river tide on the surface of the water, and is finally washed ashore on the bank of the river in another location, far away from the original coconut tree. Without anybody tending to it, the coconut SEED gradually grows into a tree, and continues to give innumerable coconuts over the course of many years, and sustains many human beings with natural generosity.

The Supreme Soul is a LIVING SEED who Spiritually sustains all the souls of the entire world – and we, too, should follow the Father in this unlimited Act of Generosity!

17. Gentleness, Tenderness (कोमलता)
Politeness, Graciousness (शालीनता)

When a very strong breeze is blowing across a mature rice-field, visualise the RICE STALKS which sway to and from with such rhythmic GENTLENESS, that they absorb the ferocious force of the breeze, and dampen its effect to such an extent that not even a single rice grain falls off from the stalk.

Likewise, whenever we are severely criticized or sorely insulted by anyone, we should promptly react with so much graciousness, politeness, tenderness and GENTLENESS that the attitude of the critic gets dampened and his/her criticism gets toned down gradually. We are then able to maintain our emotional stability and we do not feel the urge to react with the slightest aggression towards the critic.

18. Honesty, Fidelity (ईमानदारी)

Visualise a fresh FRUIT which has been plucked from the tree, after having just ripened fully on the tree itself. You expect a particular taste from that fruit, to which you are already accustomed based on your previous experience. That fresh FRUIT has so much HONESTY that when you take a bite, it gives you the EXACT taste which you ACTUALLY expected. It does not deceive you in the slightest!

We too should have so much HONESTY in our dealings and interactions with others that they experience EXACTLY what they expect from us in all our relationships, and no one feels deceived in the slightest sense!

19. Humility, Modesty (नम्रता)
Egoless, Humbleness (निरहंकारिता)

Visualise a busy intercity or interstate HIGHWAY which constantly serves everyone with the greatest HUMILITY and enables them to reach their desired destination WITHOUT creating within them even the slightest feeling of gratitude towards itself!

Likewise, we too should be like that HIGHWAY - who constantly serve others with the greatest HUMILITY to the satisfaction of everyone whom we serve, WITHOUT having any expectations from them in return - and in such a manner as not to cause them to feel a sense of gratitude towards our own selves!

You are a renowned individual who has been invited to a grand party. When you arrive at the party venue there is no usher who can recognize you instantly, to take you immediately to the allocated seat. You go to the least conspicuous seat and sit there with great HUMILITY. When the host arrives and recognizes who you are, he apologizes for this lapse, introduces you to everyone concerned, and takes you to the appropriate location and makes you sit on a seat meant for all renowned individuals.

20. Introversion, Introspection (अंतर्मुखता)

Visualise a very beautiful, precious PEARL within the shell of an oyster, resting at the bottom of the sea, close to the shore. ONLY the lucky ones who have the faculty of INTROVERSION, can EASILY locate that particular oyster, which contains the precious PEARL within its shell, and possess the PEARL. When others see the beautiful, precious PEARL, it creates within them a sense of joy and happiness - and although they wish to possess it, they cannot do so, because it does not belong to them, but to someone else!

Similarly, my INTROVERSION, introspection, or meditation, should be such that I am able to Remember the Supreme Soul and receive Spiritual energy from Him to be able to see my Self as a beautiful, lovely, and precious soul within the covering of this body, once again – and experience a sense of Spiritual Joy and Happiness. ONLY the fortunate ones are able to have such INTROVERSION through such Remembrance, so as to become aware of themselves as souls, and so as to be able to radiate the Spiritual energy acquired from the Supreme Soul to others also - thereby also creating within them a sense of Spiritual Joy and Happiness! Although others may also desire to have such INTROVERSION at that time, but they are unable to do so, since they have still not acquired that particular faculty themselves – but they have the opportunity to make efforts and acquire that faculty of INTROVERSION themselves, and become soul-conscious, once again.

21. Lightness, Easiness (हल्कापन, सरलता)

Visualise that you are wearing clean, white clothes which have been freshly ironed and pressed, so that there are no creases seen anywhere; and you are sitting on a ‘gaddi’ which is also covered with a freshly pressed clean, white cover without any creases anywhere; and you are either conducting meditation, or reading the Murli by giving clarifications wherever required. You sit on the ‘gaddi’ fully relaxed, with so much LIGHTNESS and EASINESS - that you do not shift or move your position or posture from the original to the slightest extent, owing to your deep concentration and total absorption in your activity - and when you finally get up from the ‘gaddi’ there is not the slightest crease or wrinkle appearing either on the pressed white cover of the ‘gaddi’, or anywhere on the freshly pressed clothes that you are wearing!

22. Maturity, Sobriety (गंभीरता)

Visualise a LOG of WOOD. This cannot be cut immediately to fabricate a door or window frame, but it must be kept for a certain period of time, during which it has to be seasoned and cured, to allow it to maintain its natural, permanent form, so that no distortion develops in the final fabricated product thereafter. ONLY when it is allowed to mature by seasoning and curing properly, can it then be used to fabricate the finished product which can retain its form and size permanently thereafter.

Likewise, Baba’s Knowledge of the TRUE Gita should be retained within the intellect and churned continuously for a long period of time until it develops a firm impression on the mind and the intellect. Through this deliberate prolonged process, the Knowledge will then be imbibed by the Self, only after which can it create any lasting impression on the mind and intellect of others, to whom same is conveyed. However, if we attempt to relate the Knowledge to others without this MATURITY, then it becomes superficial, and cannot create a lasting impression on others!

23. Obedience, Observance (आज्ञाकारिता, आज्ञाकारी)

In earlier days, marine navigators used to make use of the STARS, seen during clear skies, in order to determine the position of ships, during the evening and morning twilights, while sailing in the open ocean. Certain specific, prominent stars were used for this purpose during NAUTICAL twilight - when the horizon was also clear and the designated stars were also clearly visible, to be able to measure the altitude of relevant stars accurately using a sextant. Since these stars are so obedient to be available and visible in the sky at the EXACT anticipated time, they are so useful to the marine navigators to determine the position of ships and facilitate navigation in the open ocean.

Likewise, when we carry out the directives of the Supreme Soul, or Spiritual STAR, with OBEDIENCE, as per His expectations, we become very useful to facilitate the enormous task of World Purification & World Transformation, to be able to establish the New World of Golden Age, once again, on this planet earth – for the ultimate benefit of everyone, including our own selves!

24. Patience, Endurance (धैर्य, धैर्यता)

Visualise a FARMER, who laboriously tills the soil in the fields, prepares the various blocks, moistens the soil with the available water, and sows the seeds. He then waits for the anticipated rain to come at the predicted time, with great PATIENCE and complete confidence. If the rain fails to come within a certain period after sowing, the seed would perish. The rain is so OBEDIENT, and subservient to the determined expectations and firm confidence of the FARMER, that it comes within the anticipated period, for a successful and fruitful harvest.
PATIENCE and OBEDIENCE go hand in hand!

Similarly, when we give Knowledge to others, we should first feel their pulse, and then prepare their minds with great PATIENCE and care, and ensure that their intellects are receptive to this Knowledge, before sowing the Seeds of this Knowledge within their minds and intellects. We should then continue to give them positive Spiritual vibrations in Remembrance of Baba, and allow the Seeds of Knowledge to germinate within their minds and intellects at their own time, without being impatient, and without anticipating instant results!

25. Purity, Holiness (पवित्रता)

Visualise a blanket of pure, white SNOW which covers the entire mountainside – it appears very lovely, attractive and beautiful when seen from a distance. But if you touch the SNOW and grasp same in your hand, it will melt – and its loveliness, beauty and purity will disappear.

PURITY is like the SNOW which covers the mountain – if it is ‘touched’ by body-consciousness then it will diminish, and gradually disappear with increasing body-consciousness. Redeveloping soul-consciousness, through Remembrance of the Supreme Soul, gradually INCREASES the PURITY of the soul, once again.

Some may have the impression that water from the streams and springs must be having some form of impurities – but ACTUALLY the water from the streams and springs is a very pure form of water.

Similarly, some may get the impression, at first, that those who give this Knowledge to others have ulterior, impure motives to take advantage of the gullibility of others for their own selfish benefit - and they would be reluctant to have any interactions with you. But once they begin to interact with you closely and frequently, they will understand your noble intentions, and they will realise that your motives are pure and noble, and benevolent for the ultimate supreme benefit and uplift of everyone concerned!

26. Respect, Reverence (सत्कार)

When a POSTMAN delivers mail, one may receive good or bad news. One does not praise or curse the postman on receiving good or bad news, but one continues to respect his status as a postman, who merely performs his allocated service of delivering mail.

Similarly, when one uses a MIRROR to check one’s appearance, one continues to have due respect for the utility of the mirror, regardless of one’s good or ugly appearance seen within the mirror. If one is dissatisfied with one’s appearance as seen within the mirror, one does not break the mirror, or get rid of same.

Likewise, when anyone comments on our behaviour or conduct or character, we should continue to have RESPECT and regard for that person. We should NOT get upset if we are adversely criticized by anyone, and behave aggressively or vengefully towards that person!

27. Royalty, Nobility (श्रेष्ठता)

When the OCEAN is rough it majestically displays its energy and power equally against the rugged and jagged rocks, as well as over the smooth sandy beaches; and no one can question this action of the ocean. Similarly, when the ocean is calm it gently displays its tranquillity equally against the rocks, as well as over the beaches; and no one can question this action of the ocean either. This royalty and nobility of the ocean cannot be challenged by anyone, and it is displayed spontaneously without any discrimination or favouritism!

Likewise, the decisions of ROYALTY are devoid of any favouritism, and are final and binding on one and all, together - without any discrimination. True Royals do not blunder, and they have no regrets for any apparent disapproval or damage which may occur on account of their decisions, because they are able to perceive the ultimate benefit in everything!

28. Self-confidence, Willpower (आत्मविश्वास)

When you plan to travel by car on a long road journey, you would first check the efficiency of the car, and ensure that everything is in order, including the steering and braking systems. You would also ensure that you have all the relevant maps of all the road routes for the entire journey, and any other information which would be useful to you. You would also ensure that you have all the equipment and material which are required for the entire journey. Only after all these checks and preparations have been made would you be able to embark on the long road journey with complete self-confidence.

Likewise, only when we make proper spiritual efforts in accordance with Baba’s Shrimat, and prepare ourselves accordingly, can we embark on the long journey of future life-spans with complete SELF-CONFIDENCE!

29. Serenity, Calmness (शीतलता)

On a calm, quiet and still night, when any child cries in any nearby house; or on a calm, quiet and still night, when an animal cries out in the distant forest – the atmosphere between the source of the sound of the cry and yourself is completely tranquil and still. When one is able to sense or experience this state of tranquillity in the atmosphere that is serenity!

Likewise, when there is any chaos, turmoil, or disturbance all around you, owing to adverse circumstances or situations or strained relationships – and you are able to dive deep within your inner Self, and sense or experience the peace and tranquillity within you, that is SERENITY!
