You can take a BK out of Bahkti, but you cannot take the Bhakti out of the BKs.
This is what happens when the Father leaves the kids to run the house.
I used to wonder why the Murlis used to keep repeating, "Krishna (Lekhraj Kirpalani) is not God ... Bhakti is impure ... don't keep any photographs" etc. Now I understand why ... these people never learn.
What difference is this from a Hindu temple full of statues or pictures?

That's very apt.
And the Bhakti among the BKs is increasing day by day. Earlier they used to worship just Dada Lekhraj. But now they are worshipping different Didis and Dadis and even the junior teachers.
And here is how they worship these Dadis:

All this and more while Baba keeps on urging the children to avoid Bhakti, to avoid keeping pictures of bodily beings, to avoid physical, perishable decorations, to save the precious Yagya money, to avoid pomp and show. But He also says that as is the king so are the subjects. When the King himself is doing and encouraging Bhakti, the subjects follow suit.

There must be some kind of problem with emotional suppression here ... Denied normal emotional outlets and common regard for genuinely accomplished people, they project those feelings in the only "permissible" direction allowed ... on their Seniors who, quite frankly, have really not done very much in life.
But at the most simple level, it's a sign they have too much money and are not doing enough of the right thing with it. Again, it's become "permissible" entertainment and "permissible" expense where other normal expressions are denied.
I mean, who the hell are all those cardboard cutouts? It's like now that they have worshipped one Dadi, they have to worship all the Dadis just to make them equal and not hurt their feelings; even though all that "Dadi" might have done is roll chapatis.
It is also reinforcing their importance in the mind of the adherents which is against the knowledge.
In the West, many Western sisters also seem to fall in love with the senior sisters and keep their photos in their bedrooms. It's beyond just "saintly" worship and even superstition. We've also heard Gulzar tell followers it is OK for them to remember her because remembering her is one sep towards remember their baba.
