In my experience, meditation is like the recent consensus of opinion in the simplified explanation of the most deeply studied Quantum Physics. Specifically as described in the fabulous "What the Bleep do we know" 5 DVD compilation of interviews and feature film. The observer dictates the outcome!!

So if the outcome is to be in a loveleen connection to God for world service, well ... er, can you think of a better aim and intention for Meditation ? You can ? Well go for it, you will probably attain that too. Lot's of Godly love, pure feelings & well wishes to all souls who have obviously suffered through lack of, or bad guidance during their meditation practice of course.

Incidentally, I came upon a great yukti during the recent Mike George Programme at Nan Tien, (Southern Paradise) temple here in the Land of Oz. It was shared by our sweet brother Roger Cole, as being suggested by Eckhart Tolle.

The simple idea, being a great way to get the mind to rest from endless vritti, pritti and kritti, (thoughts), it is as follows. Firstly, close the eyes and look at the back of the eyelids ... now try to FIND your next thought !

Blah blah ... Quantum Physics ... blah blah ... What the Bleep? ... blah blah ... Eckhart Tolle ... blah blah ... (cough) Mike George?

Have BKs Roger Cole and Mike George really managed to propel themselves into the higher echelons of Oprah Winfrey sponsored quotable millionaire author cooking up a New Age soup of other millionaire authors? Not yet perhaps but give them time ... On the back of his books, Mike is referred to as "a spiritual teacher, motivational speaker, retreat leader and management facilitator" ... basically commercialising - turning into money - his BK experience and his involvement with the previously BK run Oxford Leadership Academy 'Self Management Leadership' BK service programme.
  • Is that not contrary to Shrimat and the spirit of enlightenment? ... whilst neither Jesus nor Buddha signed publishing deal but the God of the Brahma Kumaris is certainly increasingly into copyright and trademarking.
Can Meditation Be Bad For You? ... a more obvious question might be, "Is Meditation Bad For Your Bank Account?" I think what we need is clarity between what is meditation versus, say, hypnosis, visualisation, mantra, contemplation etc ... we use the meditation and apparently suppose we all know what it means and that we are talking about the same thing, just as BK talk about Yoga and presume the same.

I remain interested in Tolle's experience and why the BKs jump upon him as they do any trendy New Age wonder these days. Is there own unlimited fountain of truth not enough to sell it to the ever more discriminatory paying public?

Being an older Western BK, I remember when a few brave souls first dared incorporate any non-BK quotations into their public service programmes. Its seem to have become a veritable Tsunami of quotable others and a career for a few ... but how? is not it contrary to your Baba's instructions? Are these quotable individuals either impure Shudras or new souls starting their own religion at the very "fag end" of the Kalpa? Do they not, by the Knowledge, have to lose everything and them come back to The Baba to learn it all again? How can they learn it all if what they are being taught are their own teachings taught to them by a BK?

I am interested in Tolle's experience however. This we discussed elsewhere. What do we make of "the voice" that spoke to him at his suicidal depth? Is Tolle an "acharya", or Chariot for a second soul as per the BKWSU teachings? If so ... why are BKs following or "deitizing" (worshipping making into a deity) a fag end of the Kali Yuga guru? Why draw attention to them or why need to market The Baba amongst the likes of them?

Is spirituality bad for you? Is there spirituality without spirits floating around using us?
When he was 29, Eckhart Tolle almost killed himself ... "Until my 30th year, I lived in a state of almost continuous anxiety, interspersed with periods of suicidal depression. It feels now as if I am talking about some past lifetime, or somebody else's life. One night, not long after my 29th birthday, I woke up in the early hours with a feeling of absoute dread. I had woken up with such a feeling many times before, but this time it was more intense than it had ever been before. The silence of the night, the vague outlines of furniture in the dark room, the distant noise of a passing train -- everything felt so alien, so hostile, and so utterly meaningless, that it created a deep loathing in me: a deep loathing of the world.

"The most loathsome thing of all, however, was my own existence. What was the point in continuing to live with this burden of misery? Why carry on with this continuous struggle? I could feel that a deep longing for annihilation, for non-existence, was now becoming much stronger than the instinctive desire to continue to live. 'I cannot live with myself any longer.' This was the thought that kept repeating itself in my mind."

After suffering for years from severe depression, he decided he would commit suicide, at which point he felt an energy vortex sucking him in and heard the words “Resist nothing.” He blacked out and when he awoke, the world was fresh and new. He was a man without depression, without desires, without thoughts. He was a clean machine, devoid of his former sense of personal self. From that day on, he has moved through physical reality without an ego. “Life” moves through him, he says, and he identities that “wholeness” as his Self.
