BKs - psychology, ADHD and exit strategies

14/07/06 This posting makes broad reference to psychological issues in the Bk's in general and ADHD specifically. This is something I have been wanting to bring up on this forum for some time. It is a delicate issue in that no one ever wants the label ADHD or dysfunctional or disordered or psycholog...

Well, we have certainly generated an inspired conversation and that is the main thing. No doubt we are arguing over who believes what. Whether we go for 'spiritual fact' or 'scientific fact', I agree that there is religion in both. We all have our own individual perspective, which means that it is i...

the latest from Dadi Janki

I received a text message from a BK friend in London who, in all sincerity, was advising me of the latest jewel from Dadi Janki - "Baba has said that all 3 Dadis will be with the Family until the end. And that there are 800,000 BKs and so it won't take long for the other 100,000 to come. So tim...

and ...

The Sindhis are known as the 'Jews of India'. Stinking, stinking rich. I attended a number of functions with Dadi and Jayanti of 'Sindhi service'. I spoke at a Sindi's house, in Westminster - a very large detached house complete with servants. A detached house in Westminster would be worth more than...

a meaty conversation!

I've been absent for a few days and so it has been interesting to come back and see how this conversation is going. I still feel that the Bk's as an institution will eventually come unstuck when the fiction it has conveyed as truth finally catches up with it. By that I mean things like changing the ...

well....

Actually I have no personal attachment to Dadi. Nor am I interested in this whitewash about settling karma. Fact is that Dadi's alzeimers is direct evidence, to me, that Raja Yoga is pure fiction. So I add it up and I find it quite a plate full. Yes the Bk's will be doing their Bhakti and will remai...

definition of charitable purpose according to Tax Law

Here is an extract of The Australian Taxation Offices' definition of what contributes a charitable purpose and institution and therefore allows tax relief: Taxation Ruling TR 2005/21. Income tax and fringe benefits tax: charities For a purpose to fall within the technical legal meaning of 'charitabl...

charitable status???

I very much appreciate this posting as I have been looking into the BKs charitable status in Australia. It seems the criterea are very similar in the UK as Australia - everything they (the BKs) have stated resonates with the requirements for obtaining charitable status here. If the BKs were to state...

well, not really 'shocked' so much as.....

well 'shock' has become surprise simply because alzheimers is a psychiatric disorder that is known to affect those who are mentally inactive - there is a very strong correlation between lack of use of the brain and Alzheimers and this is why I am surprised. Someone as alert as Dadi would not ordinar...

Is this true about Dadiji?

I have been advised that Dadi Prakashmani is seriously ill in hospital, in intensive care in fact. And not expected to pull through. The thing that shocks me is the problem is Alzheimers. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

oh so juicey

Well, I am in agreement with everyone here - but I cannot help feel that we are just going around in circles - or cycles. Maybe its just a really deep habit? But I am with Jamesy - The Power of Now lifted me out of this conundrum almost instantly: I am hearing all your questions ex-l. I spent 5 year...

Books that make a good resource for ex-BKs

Since leaving the bk's I have stumbled upon some books that have been really useful - Gyan is so specific and bk's so pointed in their beliefs that it kills both ones personal ideas and any sense of universality or objectivity. Getting my head out of an indoctrinated belief system and into a 'free f...

Cynical but true - add this

Hi. Well I am back - and I thought the original posting on the money even if resonating with pain and rejection. I would like to add something - something I was thinking about recently is just how contextural Gyan is. That is, 'knowledge' comes to us from a very distinct Indian context, but more spe...
